Independent Experiment
1. I want to attempt to perform the Bismuth experiment. Hope to make a necklace at the end of this experiment.
2. Bismuth (Bi) is a heavy metal that looks a lot like Tin or Lead. When heated and cooled the metal forms intricate crystallized shapes.
3. Safety Hazards
4. I plan on performing the experiment on the desk next to Andrew’s desk in the front.
5. Materials I will need

3. Safety Hazards
- When melted it becomes molten. If it has contact with your skin it could cause serious burns.
- Inhalation is not bad but not good. Too much exposure of the chemical is not good for the mucus membranes or lungs.
- Ingesting bismuth causes vomiting and is very dangerous.
- You need to wear goggles and gloves to prevent burns.
- Don’t touch the hot plate when is turned on or it will burn you
